1578–95 Bolivia 4 Reales Philip II Silver Cob PCGS XF40

$845

The broad royal shield is a defining feature of this Potosí silver 4 reales of Philip II. Attributed to 1578–1595, assayer B, this coin comes from the Pat Johnson Collection and offers an appealing view of sixteenth-century heraldic design. Its uneven perimeter and edge splits make the individual flan easy to recognize. Graded PCGS XF40, Calicó 525. Approximately 33.9 mm across the photographed span; label weight 13.60 g. Supplied in its protective PCGS holder. Coin only; no pendant frame or chain.
